Sourced from the MacKillop vineyard in northern Coonawarra, the 2025 release of Wynns Cabernet Franc builds confidently on the promise shown in its inaugural vintage.
The 2025 season proved another excellent year for Coonawarra Cabernet Franc. Dry picking conditions produced small, clean berries, resulting in a wine of precise regional and varietal expression. A shorter period of skin maceration, complemented by maturation in neutral 3,000L French oak vats, allows the vibrant character of Cabernet Franc to speak with clarity. The wine combines youthful energy with genuine structure, lending itself equally to enjoyment on release or a period of cellaring.

Every year Wynns winemakers select a single vineyard parcel of fruit to bottle as a limited edition. Ripe raspberry and blackcurrant with a dusty edge. The palate shows vibrant tannins, opening to layered crimson and purple fruit on the finish. Tight and taut with a swirling energy, and bloody delicious.97 Points.
It is the most engaging and quite beautiful wine that expresses this variety so well. It allows the fruit to express all of its glorious qualities, a bright red and black fruit combination. It’s a pretty wine, and yet there is structure here that’ll support medium-term cellaring. 95 Points.
