Overview

Overview

Planted in 1954, Johnson’s Block is the oldest surviving Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard. These heritage vines produce fine and aromatic fruit – the foundation of this most worthy single vineyard release.

Elegant and refined, this wine exudes an array of dark blood plums, cherries and blackcurrants balanced with cacao, game and spice. Beautiful powdery tannins mixed with bright acidity hold balance allowing it’s fine length to be finished by lingering creamy oak.

Taste Description

Taste Description

Nose

Lifted cranberry, magnolia flower and sweet and sour pastry notes.

Flavours and Palate

Crunchy white cherry and blueberry complements more savoury elements of stalks, pastry, and spice. Silky tannin adds depth and tone, and guides the pure fruits though to the lingering crushed pepper and cinnamon on the finish.

Campbell Mattinson

From the oldest surviving Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard in Coonawarra comes this year's single vineyard release. Elegant, and refined with classic cassis aromas and a palate of blood plums, cherry and cacao. Unmissable.
